How does cash back Work?

We get commission for purchases you make with brands and stores and pass 50% or more back to you as cashback.

Will it cost me anything?

ExtraRands is completely free to use.

We don’t take any sign-up or membership fees upfront or at any time from your account.

When will I actually get my cash back?

Cash back should track to your Earnings Page within 7 days of your purchase, but it isn't ready to withdraw straight away.

We need to wait until the retailer's return policy is over before they can confirm your cash back, and then once the retailer has paid us the commission for your purchase, we'll make your cash back 'payable' and ready to withdraw.

What can I get cash back on?

You’ll can get cash back on everything, your favorite home and international brands and stores, hotel bookings, airline ticket, anything you can purchase online.

What payout methods are available?

You can withdraw your cash back to your bank account.

Why did my purchase not track?

The vast majority of transactions do track but the tracking system isn't perfect and problems can arise. There might be anti-spyware, anti-virus or other protection on your computer which might prevent cashback tracking to your account.

If this happens don't worry. Just wait a week or two as some transactions take a little while to be reported to us by the merchants. If at this stage the cashback has not tracked to your account simply complete a Missing Cashback Claim. The claim form should only take a few minutes to complete but you will need your order number as supplied by the merchant you purchased from.

Why has my cashback not reached payable yet?

This is simply because that is how long it takes for the cashback to reach us.

Generally speaking, the retailers get invoiced for the cashback after the end of the calendar month in which the transaction occurred. This means that if your transaction was at the start of a month, then you will probably be waiting a slightly longer amount of time for your cashback than someone who purchased at the end of a month.

After the invoice has been sent, it can take one or two months for the cashback to be paid to the affiliate network and for it to then be sent on to us.

We're sorry if this does take longer than expected, but we do make sure to pass the cashback on to you as soon as we receive it. It is also important to note that with ExtraRands, once you have payable cashback, you are able to request the payout of this immediately, without having to wait for monthly or quarterly payouts.

How do I make sure that my purchases track?

Whilst the vast majority of transactions do track, there are situations where something can go wrong. This can be for a number of reasons including anti-spyware, anti-virus or other protection on your computer might prevent cashback tracking back to your account.

In order to aid successful tracking on your computer, please consider the following points:

1) Always start your shopping journey at ExtraRands and complete the process from here. Do not click from ExtraRands after you have added items to your basket or generated a quote.

2) Ensure that you purchase immediately after clicking through from ExtraRands. Do not click to any other sites during this process.

3) Ensure that your internet browser and firewall/security software is enabled to allow cookies.

4) You could try clearing your Cookies stored on your computer before purchasing.

It is hard for us to advise on further specifics due to the number of factors which can affect tracking on a single computer but we would advise one further step:

My transaction has been declined

If your transaction is showing as declined or has a line through the amount, then the merchant has declined your cashback transaction.

If this applies to you, please lodge a missing cashback claim and we'll be able to look into it further for you.

How do I request payout?

Providing you have some transactions which have become payable, you can request a payout at any time.

To do this, please go to the cashback section of your account where you will then see the available payout options and the amount due.
